For the first time, ARTSiE had the opportunity to work with Y.O.U. (Youth & Opportunity United) in Evanston, IL where we were able to teach art enrichment classes to dozens of children in Y.O.U.’s after school programming. Classes included:

• Alvin Ailey Modern Dance Class at King Arts Magnet School

• Creative Communications at Dawes Elementary

• Mono Printing with Gelli Plates at Washington Elementary

• Images Beyond the Page at King Arts Magnet School

Through partnering with Y.O.U., ARTSiE is embedded in a coalition of organizations working toward elevating artistic opportunities for children. This winter/spring, ARTSiE taught a new group of children and shared our goals of improving reading comprehension, heightening social-emotional awareness and connection, increasing parent & family engagement, and shifting teacher instructional practices.

We are excited to continue with Y.O.U. in the summer and fall of 2023 in Evanston & Skokie, IL.
