Laura Mudd dedicates her work to promote the wellbeing, development and education of children and families, particularly children growing up bi-culturally and in challenging social and economic situations.
She is currently Executive Director of ARTSiE, and Program Director of our Literacy through the Arts after-school and summer programs, working closely with teachers, administrators, children, and parents/guardians.
She recently worked as a professional development facilitator for the Erikson Institute, partnering with Chicago Public School administrators and teachers to strengthen oral language and literacy instructional practices. She formerly taught fourth grade as a dual language teacher and later led and advised the implementation of the Evanston-Skokie School District’s, Two Way Immersion Program (Spanish – English).
Laura continues to advocate for literacy-arts integration through multicultural perspective and parent engagement. Children’s wonder, curiosity, and imaginative expressions, continue to delight her days and fuel her forward.
