The Fleetwood-Jourdain Center Collaboration

ARTSiE is now launching an exciting collaboration with The Fleetwood-Jourdain Center through the city of Evanston and is providing high quality after-school arts enrichment programming. We are in planning stages of a much anticipated gardening and mural kick off for the spring break camp at The Fleetwood-Jourdain Center. The kick off features “Piloto” Nieves, Evanston muralist and restaurant owner, who will lead us in a self portrait mural workshop.

The Fleetwood-Jourdain Center is the oldest community center in Evanston and houses several opportunities and activities for children and families. Martin Mancera, the Program Supervisor, commented that this project is the first he’s heard of in his 20 years with Fleetwood-Jourdain. ARTSiE is offering a weekly literacy and arts after-school class focusing on the book Change Sings with Teaching Artists recruited from Northwestern University’s Theater Department (read more about that here!). During the Evanston School District’s spring break, ARTSiE will provide morning mural and gardening workshops at The Fleetwood-Jourdain Center.

We are looking forward to connecting with children and families throughout this collaboration!
