We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generosity and collaboration with Open Studio Project, ARTSiE has the opportunity to work in their studio space at Family Focus for three special sessions. This allows us to continue the mural exploration and creation with children in collaborative art sessions called:

Unleashing Creativity with Gelli Plates, Collage, and Paint

During these sessions, children are invited to create communal pieces using a variety of mark-making tools including gelli plates, collage materials, and paint. Each class culminates in a final project on canvas. Children will showcase their creations during our Art Gallery Walk & Talk on the last day. The showcase will be a wonderful opportunity for them to share the inspiration behind their artworks and celebrate their creative journey. There are two components to the class:

1. Diary Painting: This time for painting allows children to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and imagination in a way that feels natural to them.

2. Inspiration Through Storytelling: To further inspire our students and enhance literacy, each session includes a read-aloud from a carefully selected book. The chosen texts—ARTIVIST, LOVE, and Maybe Something Beautiful—are rich in themes of creativity, activism, and the beauty of art, encouraging children to reflect on the power of art to transform and inspire, both within themselves and in their communities.

As we continue these sessions, we are excited to see how the students’ individual expressions come together to create a shared work of art. At ARTSiE, we know that art has the power to bring joy and connection, and we are grateful for the opportunity to nurture this within the next generation of young artists.
