At ARTSiE, we’re proud to collaborate with teaching artists who not only inspire creativity but also ignite social consciousness. One such artist is Sholo, a muralist, set painter, educator, and self-described “outspoken spiritual feminist without borders,” whose work has become a vibrant thread in Evanston’s cultural fabric.
Sholo brings her passion into classrooms. She teaches students not just how to paint, but how to see themselves as storytellers and changemakers. She embodies the spirit of ARTSiE: community-rooted and committed to the transformative power of art. Whether she’s leading a mural project, mentoring young artists, or painting a theater set, her work challenges us to see, feel, and act.
Sholo is currently bringing art and gardening alive as an ARTSiE teaching artist with children at The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. To learn more about Sholo’s journey and impact, read her full profile in the Evanston RoundTable here.
