Hi, I’m Sholo!

Born on the Southside of Chicago in 1968, Sholo was an artist at a young age, influenced by her mother who was a floral and interior designer. As a self-taught mixed media artist and mother of two, art and family have been her priorities for the last twenty years.

She has learned to embrace her mistakes, revealing a better understanding of what the universe wants for her art. She rebelled against the rules of techniques learned in art school, resulting in utopian environments that echo her love for fashion, textiles, and patterns.

Sholo has taken her art to the streets with murals to advocate for social change on racism and women's rights. Each mural she creates contains bright colors with hidden messages to observe and process. The techniques she uses include homemade inks, collage, watercolor, and encaustic wax painting with acrylic inks.
