ARTSiE is so excited to announce our newest Teaching Artist: Ms. Amy! Ms. Amy’s extensive involvement in the professional world of theatre began as the Assistant to the Producer at the Royal George Theatre Center, where she was privileged to work with such productions as the Chicago and national touring production of Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony-Award winning Angels in America, Parts I and II; Forever Plaid; I Hate Hamlet; Family Secrets; The Who's Tommy; and Smokey Joe's Cafe, which went on to Broadway.
While pursuing a professional acting career, Ms. Amy appeared in numerous Chicagoland productions, and eventually landed a full-time position with Chicago’s award-winning Imagination Theater (IT) where she served for 10 consecutive seasons as a full-time Ensemble Member/Arts Educator, and quickly moved up the ranks to serve as Artistic, then Executive Director.
Ms. Amy is currently a teaching artist and an accomplished director, having directed shows at all levels (community theatre, educational theatre, and professional theatre). Directing credits include: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Devil’s Disciple, The Subject Was Roses, Beauty and the Beast, A Bridge to Terabithia, All’s Well That Ends Well, A Comedy of Errors, The Merchant of Venice, The Addams’ Family, You Can’t Take it With You, and God’s Favorite. She is a seasoned storyteller, specializing in interactive experiences for audiences.
Ms. Amy will be joining our summer team as a Teaching Artist, and we can’t wait for the children to benefit from her wealth of acting experience and energetic games!
