The Arts in Education Council (AEC) is a forum of parents, teachers and community members, organized in 1973, to advocate for quality fine arts education for all Scottsdale Unified School District students, K-12.

AEC Wins grant award from the Scottsdale League for the Arts

The AEC is delighted to announce that we are once again honored to receive a grant award from the Scottsdale League for the Arts, for $15,000.  These monies go towards supporting our mission for Scottsdale's schools, providing matching funds where necessary for Artist in Residence programs, and offering a professional fine arts performance to our Elementary and Middle schools.  Our sincere thanks go to the Scottsdale League for the Arts, and thank you to all who attend the Scottsdale Culinary Festival, who's proceeds make the League's grant work possible!

The Arts in Education Council was the lobbying force behind the development of the district’s strings program in the late 1970’s?

The Arts in Education Council introduced the first Masterpieces of Art program in the State of Arizona in 1974?

The Arts in Education Council provided the impetus for the district’s support of the Artists-in-Residence in the district’s schools?

The Arts in Education Council has supported a form of music appreciation for district elementary classrooms since 1980?

The Arts in Education Council has funded and coordinated grade-level field trips involving professional performances in theatre venues for district students 1^st through 8^th graders for twenty years?

The Arts in Education Council has funded master classes/clinics for fine arts high school students at all five high schools since 2000?

The Arts in Education council has awarded almost 150 scholarships
to district students for instrumental and fine arts summer camps since 1996?
